History

Thanks to the rapid development of the economy in the early years of the 20th century, production was launched on our site – then an iron and copper factory – in 1911.

The middle of the century brought with it a new situation and changed circumstances, so our production changed accordingly. The mechanical engineering and repair services for machinery acquired as war booty which began in 1946 fostered our ingenuity and engineering thinking and taught us to work economically, in terms of both time and materials. As early as 1947 the first self-propelled grader was designed and manufactured in our factory. Thanks to modifications and improvements it soon became the foremost Scandinavian road grader. We transformed into specialists in mechanical engineering and metalworking, and remain so today. We know that through clear goals and carefully planned activities we can achieve our desired results.

In 1962 we joined a group of companies that developed and manufactured multibucket trench excavators, which were well-known throughout Eastern Europe. We became pioneers and developers in this field. Thanks to our adaptability, enterprising spirit and ambitious attitude we have also learnt from the most difficult situations.

By remaining consistent and expanding our experience we have preserved our historic identity: a hard-working nature, stamina and stability. Our business culture, which is based on open-mindedness and honesty, has been an unfailing guide in entering into long-term cooperation contracts.

Today we are a company whose efficient and well-considered design work, production management, versatile fleet performance and high-quality metal structures for mechanical engineering are appreciated by mechanical engineering companies in Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and as far afield as the United Kingdom. Paide Machine Factory has always been there for its clients, who appreciate hard work and a carefully planned approach.

And this is exactly how we plan to carry on.
